Born and raised in the pacific northwest, the most wonderful part of the country! Of course I'm biased, but the moderate temperatures, green landscapes, the ability to go from ocean to snow covered mountains to eastern Washington desert all in the space of an hour or two... well, it suits me. Of course I still enjoy traveling to other places (although not the hot ones as much) and seeing other landscapes. But I always yearn to return home!

Since I was young I always loved drawing and painting, and in high school I was one of the regulars in the art room. Later I went to college determined to keep my artistic side as a hobby only (probably just because my parents urged me to do something in the realm of art!).  Although I loved science, particularly anatomy and physiology, in my third year I happened to take a drawing class and was surprised to find that I received real encouragement to make the most of my talent and focus on that area of study.  Going down that path I later graduated with a degree in Drawing and Painting, later a degree in Commercial Art, and after working at several design houses I landed at a software company in the days when you didn't have to have any computer skills to get a good job... just talent, drive and conviction.  Still, on the side, I continued painting... sometimes a little... sometimes a lot....
